Querido familia preece
Estoy tan alegre que está semana pasó con mucho éxito aunque no bautizamos a nadie.
To be honest ive been on fire. Not to brag or anything, its just that we have been contacting people like crazy especially men. Which is different than before, because we always viewed the men as stiff and ridged, but that’s just because we were seeing them like that. We have learned a valuable lesson that the gospel is true and that it doesn't matter who you share it with you just got to do it.
As for ya'll got 3 thoughts on how you can share the gospel:
1. Always having something you can show and giving those little pass-a-long cards work great, but a personal fav is the articulos de fe. Its really easy to help people understand who we are that way.
2. Whenever we contact, we always start with the basics ...who, where, and what are you doing, but to turn the conversation we always use one simple question... something like have you ever talked to missionaries before? But I imagine in your case it would be something like ...Did you know I am a mormon?
3. Read Preach My Gospel, it is awesome! If you want to have killer gospel study sessions, you can jam it out right in that little book.
One thing I have realized family, is that we as a human race spend way too much time focusing on the details and we forget the overall miracle that God has already given us. By this I mean, many people worry about whether or not, Adam and Eve understood that they could have children if they ate the fruit. When they could be sitting there completely astounded at the simplicity and the amazingness of how God already knew they would eat the fruit and already had somebody there ready to help them get back up from the fall. Just a thought for you all.
This week I have learned several things, the first is that as a person I set many goals but rarely finish them. When we finish our goals we feel really successful. Also, I learned that I am a clean freak . . . well sort of ... I clean the apartment every week like im supposed to jajaja. but really I have learned that it doesn’t matter how difficult somebody is. We can be happy anyway. It all depends on us.If we put all of our value on how other people see us, well then we will be super unhappy. If we break the chains of peer pressure, well then we win everytime. So needless to say I feel much better with my comp even though he does some of the dumbest things.
Super awesome story. One of our investigators showed me a copy of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, a book that I have thought a ton about during the last 13 months and the applications to the gospel. But the coolist part is that I was like man I'm going to go find this book and he was like yeah its alright take it. Soooo pretty much Jair is the best. I just hope that someday really soon. He can get married and baptized but I don’t think I will get the chance to be there.
Another cool story I learned a valuable lesson about Peru today. You can buy peanut butter suelto or by the pound in the super market. Pretty much just changed my mission I've bought whole wheat bread, peanut butter and one thing I haven’t found before mermalada de frambury – I'm pretty sure its raspberry but who knows, I'm just glad it aint strawberry not that I don’t like strawberry its just it’s the only kind they have. . . . . . . . . .. .
Another cool story is that we left our keys in the apartment (not my fault btw) jajaja but I managed to open the door in less then 3 minutes and punch my comp in the face. Jajaja to be honest it was an accident but it only took a piece of rope. I think we will be locking the door from now on.
So pretty much I'm dry for stories but I have started a new thing which I like a lot. Its listening to conference addresses I download them from lds.org and I love them. I really like the one about Jesus´ walk to calvary by Holland and Pride and the Priesthood by Uctdorf.
Other than that peace out.
May the force be with you,
Elder Preece
