New camera

So as you all know, I had to buy a new camera, a samsung with wifi.  Whoever thought of that is a genius, especially because we've got wifi in the church. jajaja  There are lots of crazy functions that I don't even know how to use, but it's cool. I lent the failing camera to an elder that doesn't have one, its got about a month of life left.  At least it will give him sometime before he needs to purchase one.

The truth is that I think I'm pretty much Peruvian. I bought panaton (fruitcake), chocolate milk. and I'm starting to like salsa. What is happening to me? We also went to the plaza this week and took lots of pics. When I realized that the hunger games film is out I got ticked, but I guess that I've just got to finish my time. The great thing is that I'm going to get a new area. This has been hard for me, because I've just been here so long. Six months in one area is too much. President has been leaving some missionaries for 6 transfers which is 9 months yikes. Honestly, I hope from here on, I'm just a lowly elder of no hard jobs...just a lot of work...that's really what I'm good at. This week is going to be a tough one for me, but I've got some good stuff coming up. We've got a bunch of references and everything should go well.

I'm  going to finish the Book of Mormon today or tomorrow, that's exciting because from now on i'm just gong to study topics. I've wanted to do this for a while but that's just tough. Also, I've got to put a a lot more focus in studying Preach My Gospel but thats all good. I'll getter done.

Take care chicos,

la carta. jaja

This week was a stress relieving one.  I finally feel better again, but it cost a bit. Oh and the new silver suit is awesome. We have had a killer day. We played soccer and then ate hamburgers. We went out to cut my comps hair, and I somehow turned out to be the one who got the trim. jaja  I figured interviews with President, it's about the right time to take an inch off. We also went to reveal fotos because in Peru that's how it goes.  I bought the new camera it has wifi, that's weird since when ....? Just a perk I guess.

I got a letter this week or last and was super excited, and then I realized it was from the Stake President. Well I thought just President Beecher! buuuuut after the initial excitement, it was kind of like aaaawwe man....I thought it was from my family..... :(  It did have a nice quote from President Hinkley, that i liked. I told BriAnne about it, so she'll have to find it. jaja  As for the weather jajajajajajajaja suffer. It is 90 degrees down here jajaja and it's getting hotter, but the panaton (fruit cakes are out)....it's gonna be a good Christmas jaja.

Oh I don't know if they've got it in the states, but look for a drink that is  called maltin power. It's a latin original jajaja and also have you ever heard of chicha morada??? This is made from purple corn. iInca cola now sells its as a soda. I actually really like it but Elder Spencer  does not....but he is still a little new jajajajaja. He also hates cebada which is barley I think ... not sure translate it.

We had a great visit from Elder Evans, he is over all of the missionary stuff. It was a great meeting, I looked at Elder Mallo before it started and I was like....he's going to light us on fire and burn us down.....and he did. It was great though because I kept having those ooohhh that's what I was supposed to be doing. jajaja.

The other thing that I have realized is that all of the sisters are going home... like Sister Roper.  Sis. Boone is already at home and like all the people who started with me...It's kind of depressing actually.  that's  the mission.... new faces and new friends. As for us we are just keeping on. I've got to go because we are tooo late jaja. I haven't been this late in a  looooooong time. Chau

your stinkin letter

so this week was a weird one ive been stressed to the hilt and that's probably because of the baptism, which went not great, but we pulled it off. i got sick Sunday, the day of the baptism, and it went like this 3:30am stomachache 6am 4 cups of water stomach still hurts 7am out of bed. comp asleep. running late to church. 9am kidneys hurting like H*** 11:30am baptism still hasn't started. elder spencer and ku running like crazy. kidneys still hurting. legs jello. 12pm baptism starts. 12:30pm we successfully baptize teresa and neyeli. 1:30pm eating the lifesaving chiffles and spaghetti. and oro. kidneys stop hurting.
7:30 pm reporting 8 30 still reporting 930 calls about the special conference this week  1000 done with the calls about the conference... tired. write in journal remember things that i have forgotten. count money not much. think about tomorrow. want to sleep.

yep.... today was dope. we made pizza and a bazooki and tried to play monopoly but that ended in tears almost. .. sooooo we stopped. but yeah. it's tough to play games like that as missionaries because when your the DL they all look to you like you're a ref and your like well ...... um. .... i just want to play nice. ...:)

but yeah i'm just loving the sunshine and keeping my head up. because there ain't nothing much more i can do.

oh and btw i'm pretty much peruvian. it's weird. but i do make a dang good pizza dough...

so i figure i should send yall something today

So these last two weeks have been really crazy.

Teresa is one of our best investigators, and we are planing a killer service project, to build her house. It is about like a hole in the ground with a few metal sheets to keep out the wind and a cardboard covered with plastic room, but it's going to be awesome. The ward is really getting involved.

Yeah, oh just so you all know, i started a diet "The not eat everything you see diet"... and then I started to keep track of my finances jaja. Bought me a book to keep it all good jaja. It's going to help me out...I hope. I am reading in Alma 62 in the English version, and I want to finish before the end of the month. I am also reading A Marvelous Work and A Wonder.  It is crazy good, and it is by Legrand Richards. He is a favorite of mine. I really like how he points out that as a church, we don't need scriptures. We can get all we need from the Lord directly; however, we can use the scriptures to verify what we already know jaja. That's what I love.

I ordered two new suit jackets and a pair of pants. They cost me about 400 soles, but figure I haven't bought anything in awhile. They are from a tailor from the church, we'll see how it turns out. I also bought new soccer shoes because we play too much.  They were about 100 soles but they are quality. Soooo..I hope that my feet feel better. My cheap shoes have been killing me.

They tell us that Elder David Evans from the 70 is coming to visit us. That is going to be crazy fun. I always do something stupid when there is a 70 here....crap. That's about all I can remember, we spent the day playing soccer and doing cool stuff. I like that my crazy friend, Elder Spencer, is trying to remember all the disney movies ever made and he's got a sickening list.

The last thing that I will tell you is that my convert Andrea went to the temple. She did baptisms and now is pumped, and it was her birthday. Super crazy, they had to go to Ecuador.

That's  about all I've got.

Take care and don't take crap from anybody.

May the force be with you,

Elder Preece
