so their arn't many pictures this week. i don't know what happened we just didn't really take any. 

mtc updates.

GOTCHA we didn't move to raintree which isn't too bad. and also I probably will get reassigned the reason being i didn't get my visa. that will happen probably wednesday orthursday of next week so I get to stay at the MTC for longer YYAAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYYA. yeah so exited. and other things Um also we are getting 2 new districts which is nuts. and they are all elders which is only half as boring as it could be. 

the new districts have been fairly lame. I won't lie it took us like 6 or 7 days just to get them to play kick ball with us. yeah thats stupid and we played a monster game of softball that was super sketchy but i won't complain i just played catcher. 

i DON'T REAlly know what to write about. I almost fall asleep in class but only after meal times and yeah thats really exciting. 

the other day  i figured out how to do a gonzo accent. yeah that's cool. and lately we have been doing lots of oklahoma spainish accents which is really some thing to hear. ill see if i can't send you a recording of it. it's funny. anyway 

hows that fam. I know their are lots of things going on like school ending and cailies birthday and something really really big. i think it's on saturday and involves cake and tears and more cake and a temple. super excited for you people. and stuff. try to have fun without me. 

oh and since i'll be here let jeremy know that he has to find me. I have class in 18m room 250 so keep an Eye out. anyway I send love and other things of the heart. 

last thing Pretty much the best thing that happened this week was one of the sisters ripped a ripe one in the middle of class and elder shearer lost it he laughed for seriously like 10 minutes. it was pretty bad, but anyway i love you lots. hope the wedding goes smoothly.

Letter #4

the mostest excitingist news ever i received a letter. it said caldon preece you have hereby been called to serve in the  raintree mission, speaking spanglish it is expected that you will serve from tuesday the 28th until the following wednesday unless your visa doesn't come then you get to stay for longer or be reassigned which ever is most painful for you. . .. . .YAY i get to go back to my own room again. its like college but worse yay. exciting. right i know. i freaking hope i get my same room and I really glad i moved out that fun. but yeah so i'm actually kind of excited. this is going to be great. its like i'm going to the field but not cause it won't. but yeah more updates on that when they happen. all i know is that we are going to move. oh and we get to host that's going to be sweet. 

sweet the mtc is a roller coaster, and i be feeling the whiplash. anyway as i write you i'm pounding the animal crackers. they're great. reminds me of south jordan yeah good times. 

sorry i'm really out of it. I didn't sleep too well last night. I think that was because I got a new companion for a day and then he left that next morning. i know tragic. Elder Schagel yeah he's cool all of his district left him and so we adopted him. and then we kicked him off at the curb and he got on a bus and then a train and then another bus and then a plane to go to fresno cali cause he didn't get his visa. sad day. some day he will make it to peru. lima west i think. any way i miss him and stuff. His district were our best friends they loved foursquere and sloths and cats but that was just heramana vialobos (means village of wolves. weird i know) oh yeah and two of the elders from that district got peru visas.

so this week was pretty cool I got castigado muchas veces but when you have a lot of energy and are in the black hole of energy sucking activities yeah. that probably isn't a correct analogy but pretty much i realize i never want to go to catholic school. yeah never. but the cool thing about the mtc is there are other people here just like me. sort of their worse and they get beaten by the mtc presidency. like two days ago the new districts decide to have the rainbow challenge. which is like a rainbow of different beverages and they tried to see who could drink the fastest. and yeah it ended with president nally chastising the living day lights out of them it was great.

 except for i felt terrible because i should have stopped them. yeah it was great. when president nally came over i split with elder eddington. and i think pres. nally quoted the scripture: when i was a boy i talked as a boy etc. but when i became a man i put a way childish things yeah. ahaha it was bad.

oh the new districts are lame they won't play four square with us or kick or do anything fun. they're okay but lame. and it makes me sad. But we love them anyway.

oh and we almost committed a person to be baptized. i'm stoked. apparently the doctrine of christ is more interesting with stories from your own life. who knew all this time we have been like hey this is the doctrine will you pray? and now we are like hey this is how i use this in my life. and people love it . we start teaching our classmates this week that's going to be fun. cause our spanish sucks. no really like i can understand them, but its not good.

we played volleyball the other day that was sweet just us and the thailanders. they're nice unlike this cambodian chick who freaking hates my ties. yeah she's dumb. she was making fun of my flower tie (which i do want more of.) anyway. yeah she just came up randomly and said i hate your tie, and i was like your welcome. anyway yeah super stoked for raintree and other things like a visa. and i hear the food at raintree won't be as bad as here. oh and recently i have been loving rice leche y azucar microwaved. yeah that hits the spot which i am shaking from side to side with the mystomachhurtsies. oh and with raintree we get to host for the newbies on the second day we get their which is great. yeah.

i saw nick boyer and he's married and happy and i was happy and it was great. i love it.

oh and i'm district leader almost forgot. yeah it sucks i have to do stuff. the first three weeks were great. i just got to chill and have a party. now i have to go to meetings.

yeah favorite mtc candy: wint o green mints and chips and salsa. they're great. 

anyway loves and such.

I am thankful for food that nearly kills me because i'm still partly alive and my bowels will be able to cope with the great stuff that peru will throw at me.

if you don't like the way i'm writing my letters let me know cause i think i'm doing good.

sincerwly your best boy ever. i love your guys guts and letters are cool. citas are better and the packages are bomb. but you can lay off the food cause i'm fat. hahahahahaha unless its chips and salsa cause their bomb. 

oh last awesome story i make cheese chips in the cafeteria best meal of the mtc. yeah the salad bar had cheese and some unidentifable mess of stuff was served with chips and i added olives. i was thinking my mommy would be so proud of my culinary skillz and yeah that is what happened

Letter #3

onto the stories

The nuts adventure:

 The mtc has nut dispensers. it's pretty cool. yeah thats that

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam. 

yeah we sang and yeah in the mtc, and it was good. and we jumped a lot. pretty great.

in gym i block a soccer ball with my bicep. i was playing goalie, and it totally went to our team, and then we scored. so i figure my bicep has an Assist.

oh yeah and we were playing latins on asians (or better missionaries going to those countries because we're all white.) any ways no surprise latins won. 

so lately my appetite has been declining, but i'm still hungry. i think frank has had enough of the food and is going into starvation mode in order to stop having to digest the food in the cafeteria.

Some more info on my district

Elder Eddington knows every girls name. seriously every girl in the mtc. 

Hermana soelberg in addition to mad soccer skills, which are mad (she holds the mtc record for juggling a soccer ball on her feet it is 2356x. quite impressive. she beat the previous record by 2000). she is just modest about it. she like aweman i didn't do as well as i wanted. yeah it's messed up. any way she can spit like nobody i have ever seen. she spit her gum across the room and on the the t.v. which is like 15 ft. (she was aiming for the garbage can).

My companion had a mental break down during class last wednesday. we took a walk and had a good talk. gave him a priesthood blessing and things are looking up. but yeah it was sketchy.

just for clarification my companion is a yuppie and a little like doctor gardner always singing and the like.

I have now ran into Kam Collins twice only for like a total of a minute but that way crazy. its almost like no time had passed at all.

the mini pinapple was great if you didn't get the pictures let me know they are freaking awesome. I really am finally getting comfortable here. its weird but yeah its happening 

Oh and the tie i received from the eatough's is my new favorite tie.

yeah so were getting two new districts today. that's nuts. it feels like one long day and night and day as if it were one day. but I can't even believe that i am in my fourth week. with the new districts, i am so excited cause we sing the placentero nos es trabajar which is a spanish only hymn. That they haven't heard before. there will be more of them then us. we get 15 new zone members. I only met two. its so exciting. also it makes me want to speak spanish more cause it's really funny to watch them freak out. 

we watched russell M. nelson speak yesterday. I was thinking to myself oh great the apostle that represents the polar opposite to my personality. don't get me wrong i loved his speech, but lets just say that it wasn't the best speech i have ever heard in my life.

my favorite speaker was elder stephan Allen. he was hilarious. 

so spock is at the MTC our stake presidents assistant. no se which totally looks like him. ill try to get a picture. 

i played a boss game of volleyball that i really did poorly in like lvp (least valuable player.)

for cailie: Hermana patton loves jews too. she also wants to be one. thought of you loves and stuff awkward

one of the man people from arise the 2012 youth theme lives on our floor. his the one in blue then purple.

the marble mints for the wedding get my approval and the wedding announcement gets the whole district approval. and i'm going to prank the new districts saying i got served with a dear john.  it will be great

Letter Home #2

Mi famila
okay so i wasted most of my time sending pictures so before i start let me by saying i love you all very much and that I am having a blast it's like a really spiritual scout camp. don't get me wrong it's crazy hard here, but it's also really really fun.

april 25 

today was like two days and really i was up forever. I still don't feel terribly confident with anything. and trust me they will get mad at you for anything. I guess I'm lying a bit, they mostly just scold in a way that makes your soul ache. anyway about the only thing that i can do here is eat and that brings me to my list of complaints about the mtc.

1. the food is the worst stuff ever and yeah I really hate it. It's nothing like momma's cooking or that yummy pie i had. i think the funniest thing is that i still eat a ton of it. boy am i glad i don't have a slow metabolism.

2. everybody is all in your space, and I just need like 2 seconds to think. like for real, every second you get and your like i don't know trying to prepare a lesson for your investigator somebody a teacher or another missionary is like hey wanna hug or whatcha doin'. its obnoxious

3. las hermana, they're everywhere, and their gorgeous. and you pretty much feel guilty for standing in the same room as one of them. even if you doing something innocent like reading scriptures.

things i like

1. my companion he's really cool. he just got made district leader, and he's a shyer kid. so its been interesting to see how he approaches, and it's really hard for me to let him read. but yeah elder eddington grew up in pleasant grove, and he played in a band, tennis and student council. he's solid in the gospel, but not in Spanish, so its funny.

2.hablando espanol- we are directed to HSI which means hablar su idioma which means speak your language. it's actually really cool because i know spanish better then most the class, so i actually understand more then the others. but i make mistakes like crazy.

3. i really like how i have a top bunk. it's great every morning, i get to jump down and scare the crap out of elder langford.

april 26 

I actually have a little free time to write. I really had to haul butt to get it though. your supposed to have 15 min of quiet time for 10:15-10:30 buyt between brushing teeth and hugging out the days sorrows with the zone (which we do every night. seems like it would be weird, but i'm good with it.) I can't explain it; it just happens. (actually that's how i feel about the man hugs now. i really thought it was weird at first. but then after the first group of elders left i realized just how much i love them, and i almost cried for people i had only known for like 3 days seriously dumb). also we are finally on the same schedule as the  rest of our district. it's actually really great and to be honest Wednesday is really not going to happen fast enough. i cannot wait until there is someone else for the older missionaries to make feel loved. 

i think it was today, but it doesn't matter. i watched the heavenly father, earthly father mormon message, and i was seriously about to cry. i think it was because of the stress and not because it was that good. i also finished off the the mountains to climb one. muy triste (very sad)

also i didn't have any of the names of the district memorized until today haha

in the pictures not the temple one. there is elder fratto. he actual chose to go home. he was a convert, and i think that the mtc was exceptionally hard for him. we all had a hard time when he left.

herman harkness she gave me change today to buy a pbj because i was complaining so much about the food. she's also from Utah, but we don't remember where from.

on that not the food is getting better, but maybe that's because i am progressively losing my sense of taste 

today we taught our first investigator. it went okay, but it was freaking tough. the elders and hemanas were freaking out when they came out, and when i went in it wasn't so bad. I went last with elder eddington. I did most of the talking because elder eddingiton froze.  i tried repeatedly to get him engaged, but it's tough.

 I think one of the most important things for me to do right now is to help him speak. if i didn't say so before, he's the district leader, and he isn't the most vocal. don't get me wrong he's a great kid, but not an awesome leader. i think that's why they chose him, to help him learn.

april 28 

today was a really sad day because we had o say good bye to elders call, witton and others, and because we didn't get to say goodbye to one of our own. elder fratto checked out. i'm still confused why. he was doing so great, and i feel terrible that he being a convert would come so far just to tun back. today was a good reminder that everyday is sacred. 
we listened to both elder bednar and elder stephen allen.  i wrote a ton of notes, but you don't get to hear them cause i left them at my apartment. elder bednar talked all about turning to others like Christ did.

april 29 

the most important thing is to turn outward. we need to stop worrying about our language skills, which are important, but the most important thing is our investigators. after teaching a semi good lesson, we came to the conclusion that we really sucked because we didn't teach esteban. we taught a lesson. so the goals i have made for myself are magnify calling. 

line upon line precept upon precept, bring weaknesses to god and take his yoke, through god i can to all things. i need to believe this more.

it occurred to me that i am not turning towards others. this is a huge problem and after the talk by bednar i want to change a lot anyway. the first thing i need to do is stop worrying about the language I need to work on feeling the spirit and learning the gospel.

april 30

today was a very different day. our lesson with esteban went very well. it was powerful when esteban asked if we knew joseph smith was a prophet, and i bore testimony. it was POWERFUL crazy powerful. we even committed him to pray. awesome . the lessons i have learned really have helped be to be better and less fearful of sharing the gospel. I just focus on the love i have for others and not my own selfish desires. also i am killing spanish so yea i'm cool. and yeah just so you know the elders are so close here and maybe that's why i just go with the brasa me -ing (hugging).
 anyway that's all the time i have. i love you all.
