well internets slow and i probs wont be able to talk to pres.

So life finds us well up here in the good ol north of Peru. We had pizza and brownies for lunch and we have been running crazy all day, but that's nothing new. I got shopping done and have only a sol to my name. I tell you life ain't cheap when your weekly intake is 70 souls. I mean do you even know how much God values souls. ... jaja. This week we had one of those really crazy moments of missionary history, it went like this:

We had been contacting because I had nothing to do and I really didn't want to think about it. So we just started talking to everybody. We went to a member's house to sit and ask if he knew a few of the old investigators that we had planed to visit. One of them turned out to be his ex son in law and he was remarkably chill about the whole thing.  He gave us the reference of somebody that lives some what close by and we went. Turns out she doesn't live there and then we were like...."Great, it's hot we've got nothing" and then all of the sudden...a man comes around the corner. He is half carrying, half shoving, half dragging a woman while yelling at her to get in the motor taxi. She is hysterical and carrying a baby. My comp goes... "he's going to hit her!" I'm like ... I don't think so....what should we do? I really don't want to get involved in a scandal today ... but shes crying ... alright lets go!

"Hey, we don't want any trouble here". The man says..."I don't either. I just want her to get in the taxi, so I can take her to the city and we can get separated. I don't want anything to do with her anymore!"

We were shocked and surprised!  She gets up, crosses the street and sits down to cry. The man takes off in the motor-taxi  to follow her.

I'm like...what ... and we watch as he continues to yell and belittle her.  Then some random lady shows up and starts trying to help but it is still nasty.

We go in again... and its like..."Hey, I want to tell you something (me thinking...alright now, what am I going to tell you). The man starts telling me that his wife claims, he has a secret lover and that he beat her.

I say..."Well, if you keep doing what your doing...she'll be right! The only way to solve your problems is to calm down."

The man says..."Oh you are right." We sit him down and start explaining that the best thing to do right now is to get back with your wife and child, and that we don't want him to do anything that he would regret later.

He then starts to calm down and I leave him with my comp and go and try to console the wife. The long of the short of it is that through a miracle, they forgave each other and ended up in kisses. We ended up bringing them to church this week. So...not too bad, It felt cool....but I'm going to have to do better. We need to drop some of our investigators. Even some that want to be baptized but can't because of the marriage thing....it sucks.

Anyway keep it up. I'm getting taunqui, especially because if I were a girl...I would be coming home to you today. jaja

Love you lots and may the force be with you.
